My words flowed from my fingers,
orchestrating a magnificent symphony,
and as the melodic hymn lingered,
so did my heartbeat.
Repeatedly pounding,
my heart would not let them go.
Even with the silence surrounding,
it would not let go.
So I chased the stars of my mind,
and brought them down to earth.
And when I found Heaven inside,
I could finally see each stars’ worth.
And then I breathed them into existence,
my star and its heartbeat,
two adjacent chords of a songbird melody,
tossed like stones across the pond in a rhythmic cadence,
One… two… three.
