I sat here and kindly gazed from afar,
staring, counting all the beautiful stars.
Just eyeing the world and all its wonder,
contemplating thoughts I carelessly pondered.
My mind wandered from the sea to the sky,
and I watched closely as time flew by.
I forgot what it was like to enjoy myself,
as I had once left my happiness upon a shelf.
I no longer sat under unfortunate rainclouds,
as my mind became free of endless doubt.
There no longer stood an unplanted tree,
for it had grown from what was once a tiny seed.
The birds that flew by did so with unbroken wings,
and those who were broken tried to do the same thing.
They flew and fluttered and attempted again,
but as they failed over and over, it was never the end.
Even with broken wings, the birds still tried,
and eventually, with all their might, they would fly.
And as I sat here, beneath an old oak tree,
I watched all of this happening, and smiled happily.
