The land of dreams was quite incredible,
as were all the things there that were quite edible,
such as the marshmallow clouds in the sky,
or the ice cream candy cane carousel ride.
The sandy sprinkles upon the milky way shore,
that melted away beneath the sunshine door.
And I’d like to think that all of this was real,
but, in truth, all I’d seen was a land entirely surreal.
Cotton candy and rainbows everywhere,
and, oddly enough, I’d come across a stuffed bear.
Not sure what he’d been doing in such a place,
but he was a giant that took up quite a lot of space.
As were most things in the land of dreams;
so many thoughts and ideas bursting at the seams.
I didn’t think I’d ever want to find myself anywhere else,
aside from the comfort of my own wishing well,
the bed that I lay in and dreamt of such a reality.
It was a place where I always wanted to be.
The bear sat there in what looked like a comfy chair,
and all he did was sit there and stare.
It was as though he’d seen me somewhere before,
perhaps through my opened closet door,
where the creepiest monsters are said to be,
but they’re just as monstrous as you or me.
Only as scary as you might think they are,
the monsters have actually come quite far,
and now they are friendly, as friendly as can be.
They are, I swear, as you’ll one day see,
if you ever decide to go back to sleep,
and find yourself back in the land of dreams.
