114. Upon The Marshmallow Shore

Published on 14 March 2016 at 18:04

A light flickered inside my head,

but I turned all the lights off,

and went straight to bed,

only to look up

and see a door above

melt into the form

of a turtle dove.

It flew around my head,

again and again,

and then as the lights

flickered on,

I jumped from my bed,

only to fall below

the marshmallow floor,

finding myself somewhere

in the rainbow colored galaxy.

I then soared the shores

of the moonlit seas

upon the many pleasantries

that this life has to offer.

And you may see,

as I ask for your hand,

that I may take you away

to a kind of Neverland,

where you and I

may be free to roam

for an eternity.

And that is how I see

you and me, in complete

serenity, where angels sing,

and panda bears sleep,

and where we can count sheep

so that you may fall

asleep in my tired arms,

but I don’t care,

because I can’t help but stare

at your gleaming smile,

as you dream happily

of a lifetime and more,

upon the marshmallow shore.
