I’ve sat here,
alone and afraid,
though I am still alive,
today, today, today!
And I sit upon this tree,
where the leaves are so
evergreen, I might say,
have you met my home this day?
And will you help me find it,
whoever you are?
Whether a friend or a foe,
or a troll or a gnome.
May you help me find it,
my home? May it be
somewhere in the
great unknown.
Or it might just be wherever
I first misplaced it.
Or perhaps you know
as much as I do.
And now I am
talking to myself, too.
